Autumn is the "hot time" for all mothers. Despite the fun summer, strengthened immunity and a lot of positive emotions, the attack of autumn cold is almost always marked by children's diseases. Changing the daily routine, mental stress, being in a group - all this weakens the child's immunity and makes him vulnerable to various ailments.

Let's look at the "five" most common autumn problems and preventive measures against them.

  • Exacerbation of chronic diseases Today, even very young children can have chronic diseases that have to be treated several times a year. These include chronic bronchitis, tonsillitis, pyelonephritis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, atopic dermatitis and many others. It is in the autumn period that all these diseases can become acute, as the body is restructured and the protective properties of the immune system deteriorate. Add to this cold weather, dampness and lack of vitamin D. Prevention: timely examination by doctors. Take drugs that prevent exacerbation of chronic pathology; after the acute phase of the disease is eliminated, do not stop the treatment prescribed by the doctor. As a rule, chronic processes that occur immediately after the acute phase are treated much longer; consume more vitamins of natural origin, that is, strengthen the immune system with fruits and vegetables; take bifidobacteria, which improve bowel function, and therefore strengthen the immune system.
  • ARVI and ARI Undoubtedly, viral diseases of the upper respiratory tract are the most common disease in children in autumn. It is difficult to avoid another virus if the child is in the team every day.

Prevention: lead an active and healthy lifestyle with the whole family. Be sure to harden, walk in the fresh air every day; eat well, that is, rationally. The daily menu should include vitamins of natural origin. Eat less sweets. Drink more clean water. Use natural phytoncides - onions and garlic; avoid physical and emotional overload, especially for schoolchildren. Parents should make life as easy as possible for children who have just started school, and provide them with a harmonious combination of mental and physical activity to avoid fatigue; maintain hygiene, use handkerchiefs, wash hands more often.

  • Tonsillitis or sore throat The causative agents of this disease are bacteria, which, if not treated sufficiently, can provoke a chronic course of the disease. Angina or tonsillitis in chronic form is quite dangerous, as it can give complications to the heart, kidneys and joints. In autumn, it is especially easy to get sick with these diseases, especially since they can be caused by acute respiratory infections or acute respiratory viral infections. Prevention: consult an ENT specialist, perhaps a sore throat is the result of chronic inflammation of the tonsils; gargle with herbs and saline. A good rinse: add a spoonful of baking soda and a spoonful of salt to a glass of warm water, as well as seven drops of iodine; to prevent inflammation of the tonsils, you need to stop eating food that clogs them. For example, nuts, seeds or fruits with small seeds (kiwi).
  • Infections of the lower respiratory tract - pneumonia, bronchitis At first glance, it is not easy to get sick with such serious diseases, because the bacteria must overcome the mucous membrane and "get" to the lower respiratory tract. But it is in autumn that children most often get sick with these dangerous diseases, because the heating season begins and the humidity in all rooms is very low, as a result, the mucous membrane of the nose and mouth dries up and the natural protective barrier is destroyed. The result is bronchitis or pneumonia. Prevention: buy a humidifier and keep the humidity at 45-55 %; moisten the child's nose with sea water sprays; ventilate the room; do fluorography; if the child has a prolonged cough, be sure to consult a doctor. Intestinal disorders - constipation, diarrhea, flatulence Usually, children eat less fiber in autumn, move less, and generally experience a lot of stress. Hence the deterioration of the intestines. Prevention: adhere to the rules of hygiene; eat rationally; introduce more fermented milk products into the child's diet or give yogurt in capsules; properly heat food, especially fish and meat; wash fruits thoroughly with boiled water.
