Preventive consultation by a pulmonologist is necessary for people who smoke, have a hereditary predisposition to lung diseases, weakened immunity, frequent colds and infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, work in hazardous industries, and have had chest injuries. In addition, the risk of developing respiratory diseases increases with age, so after 45 years, preventive examinations by an experienced pulmonologist are mandatory.

There are also symptoms, in case of which it is necessary to consult a pulmonologist:

  • shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, intermittent breathing, shortness of breath chest pain when breathing
  • cough (dry, wet)
  • sputum, especially with blood
  • frequent upper respiratory tract diseases (more than 8 times a year)
  • sore throat
