Why is the early stage of rehabilitation important? Thanks to early interventions, specialists allow the patient to activate cognitive, motor, emotional, brain functions, which will allow him to better adapt to new living conditions and reduce the risk of mental disorders such as depression. The rehabilitation program for such patients is aimed at restoring the functions lost or impaired as a result of stroke (motor, sensory, speech, swallowing, etc.). It should be noted that progress in recovery (rehabilitation) primarily depends on the critical degree of preservation of cells and connections in the brain that were damaged during the stroke. If these structures and connections are preserved or partially damaged, the recovery process is fast and successful. In case of significant damage, recovery may not be as fast or incomplete. But the brain is an extremely plastic and not fully understood structure, so there is always an opportunity to improve the patient's functioning: as a result of active rehabilitation.
